Scaling
Scaling is the procedure that removes all the plaque and tartar (hardened plaque) above and below the gum line, making sure to clean all the way down to the bottom of the pocket. The first recommendation for treatment for the early stages of gum disease is usually deep cleaning of all your teeth.
Periodontal Laser Treatment
The dentist uses a laser device to access an infected pocket to kill the infected tissue and bacteria.
Crown Lengthening Surgery
A short clinical crown may lead to poor retention form thereby leading to improper tooth preparation. Surgical crown lengthening procedure is done to increase the clinical crown length.
Periodontal crown lengthening can be used for esthetic enhancement in the presence of delayed passive eruption. Those who feel that they have a "gummy" smile can greatly benefit from esthetic crown lengthening.
Sometimes functional crown lengthening will be needed in order to perform a cosmetic or restorative procedure. This may be the case if a tooth is too far decayed, broken below the gum line, or has insufficient structure for restoration like a crown or bridge.
Gum Grafting.
Gum recession is one of the most noticeable results of periodontal disease (gum disease) and is the movement of the gum line down the root of a tooth. Gum grafting corrects the aesthetic and functional deficiencies caused by gum recession
